apple pie day is september 26, 2026!

Move over, pumpkin spice!

Fall is apple pie time at the market and we're thrilled to bring back this popular and delicious market fundraiser!


The Saturday, Sept. 26 market has something for bakers and tasters: submit a pie into our contest or simply savour a slice of homemade (and possibly prize-winning) pie made with local apples!

Baking & Contest Preparation

Read the full Apple Pie Day Guidelines (PDF).


Bakers are asked to bake one or two pies to participate in Apple Pie Day.


  • The first pie will be entered in the Best Apple Pie competition. 
  • The slices not used in the judging will be sold by the slice at the Market. 
  • The second pie will be entered in a pie auction. 


If you choose to only bake one pie, on your entry form, please indicate whether you would like it to enter the competition or is auction-only.

 

We recommend that bakers purchase their apples at the market on Saturday, September 19! 


If you can't purchase at the market, please support an Ontario apple grower. 

Contest Day - Sept. 26 market

Pies for the Best Apple Pie contest must be submitted at the market by 8:15 a.m. on September 26. 


Judging will take place at 8:30 a.m. Apple pie slices will be available for sale at the market starting at 8:45 a.m.


The three top pies will be auctioned live at 10:30 a.m. and all other pies will be entered in a silent auction at the market. 


Proceeds from auctions support the St. Marys Farmers' Market.


Bakers who submit pies will receive a bag of apples on October 4, courtesy of

Forest Hill Orchard!
